All right friends. I cannot wait to inject some positivity and some lightheartedness into your day. I know that things have been a little bit scary out in the world. I know things have been a little bit overwhelming and hard and we're all feeling all the feels right now. So before I get into the content of todays episode, I want to mention something really important. No matter how you're feeling, if you're stressed, if you're anxious, if you're overwhelmed, if you're feeling any other emotion, if you're frustrated or if you're over it, it's okay. You are allowed to feel those feelings. Feel those feelings, but then try to find a way to bring in positivity. On today's episode we are going to keep it positive and I'm going to be sharing three different ways of how you can stay positive even in hard and trying times.

#1:

Consume positive content. Guys, this is a no brainer. If you want to stay positive, you HAVE to consume positive things. This means putting limits and boundaries on what you are absorbing. Maybe you need to limit your news intake. In my own life, I've limited myself to not look at any news on social media. I've gone in and I muted any social accounts that I typically follow that are news-related and now I only watch the news at six o'clock every night. I get all the information I need about what's going on, but I don't need any more than that because when I start looking at things over and over and over again about what's happening, I start to feel overwhelmed and I start getting out of positivity and more into anxiousness.

#2:

Focus on what you can control. There are only two things that you can control. It is how you react to the situation and your actions pertaining to your reaction. That's the only thing you can control. None of us can control what is happening in the world. There is no way, and we definitely can't control other people as much as we would like to, right? We can only control ourselves. So that's what we need to focus on. We can't start getting down that rabbit hole of all the things that we can't do. What can we do?

A couple of things that come to my mind are:

1. Self Care.

2. Work on your passion project.

3. Donate to your local food banks.

4. Call your friends and have meaningful conversations.

5. Support small businesses.

#3:

Choose to be positive. I know it's like getting smacked in the forehead, but seriously - choose to be positive. If we want more positivity, we have to choose to be positive and we always have the choice. I know that it doesn't always feel like it, but we absolutely do get to choose whether or not we want to be positive or not.

You can shift your mindset at any given moment. You can pause and say, "How can I be more positive in this moment? How can I look at the good? How can I root myself in gratitude and change my thinking and change my mindset to be more positive?"

I hope that this encourages you today to get out there and have a little bit more positivity because you are a ripple effect. Emotions are so contagious as we've seen with what is happening. So let's choose to put contagious positive emotions out in the world!
